Online Course

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History has partnered with the University of Detroit Mercy to present the Underground Railroad Online Course. This course offers 12 lectures beginning with slavery in the Americas and ending with the Civil War. The 12 lectures given by Dr. Roy Finkenbine, Professor of History at the University of Detroit Mercy, provide an extensive history of the Underground Railroad in the context of Detroit, Michigan, and United States history.

Aside the video lectures, you will see a collection of pertinent images that further enhance Dr. Finkenbine's course and add an additional visual element. By the completion of this course, you will not only be immersed in Underground Railroad history, but many of the important people and events of American history.
